The Fortunes of Indigo Skye

Summary: "Eighteen-year-old Indigo Skye feels like she has it all - a waitress job she loves, an adorable refrigerator-delivery-guy boyfriend, and a home life that's slightly crazed but rich in love. Until a mysterious man at the restaurant leaves her a 2.5 million-dollar tip, and her life as she knew it is transformed."
Characters:
Indigo Skye: The main character of the story. As the book starts, she is a 17-year-old waitress working in a small diner in Washington State. As the story starts she lives in a poor but loving family, and has a boyfriend named Trevor. But her life changes forever when the Vespa man leaves her a 2.5 million dollar tip....
Naomi Skye: Inidigo's mother, she works at a psychiatrist's office. She loves her family and does all she can to keep them happy, but there is always the problem of money... She acts rather eccentrically, and is basically obsessed with her yellow Datsun
Severin Skye: Indigo's twin brother. Also 17... obviously. He is very studious, very organized. He works for the Moores (very low down in the company, anyways) and starts dating Kayleigh Moore early in the book.
Bex Skye: Indigo's sister. She is 11 years old. She is basically obsessed with raising money for tsunami victims.
Will Skye: Indigo's dad. He lives in Maui with his new wife, Jennifer. He is the academic type, you know. He named her after some line in something Thoreau wrote.
Trevor: Indigo's boyfriend. He is a refrigerator-delivery guy. He has a mustang named Bob which doesn't run very well but which he loves anyways. He is crazy in love with Indigo, and she with him.
Jane: The owner of Carrera's, the diner where Indigo works. She loves Italy, and got the idea for the diner there. She hates republicans.
Nick Harrison: a very sweet guy who was accused of killing his wife two years ago. Used to be a big-shot but spent all his money on lawyers and ended up working at a hardware store or something like that. Carrera's regular.
Joe "Awful Coffee": Once upon a time, he was a boxer. Carrera's regular.
Funny Coyote: American Indian, bipolar, really like manic.. writes poetry.
Carrera's regular.
Trina: Has a thunderbird, and is totally... ... man-chasing. She gets really depressed when her boyfriend (her married boyfriend) dumps her. She has a weakness for chocolate pie. She starts selling stuff in the middle of the book when she starts running out of money. Carrera's regular.
Richard Harrison: Also known as the Vespa guy. He has an orange Vespa, and he starts coming into Carrera's all of a sudden and orders just coffee. He opens up to Indigo and tells her he feels trapped by his life. Indigo urges him to just get away from everything (she suggests Maui as a nice place) and in thanks, he leaves her a 2.5 million dollar tip.
note to self: add the moores. and jennifer.
